The Artery: Pneumatic Wearables
The concept behind this piece of pneumatic wearable is space travel and how our bodies would have to change in order to accommodate to this new environment. A person going through space travel will experience a lower gravitational pull, which would cause muscle atrophy. With this pressurized pneumatic wearable, pressure will be applied in strategic locations of arteries and veins through a heart rate sensor. This will promote an adequate amount of blood pressure necessary to sustain the harsh environment in space. Design with the wearable will be a sleek body suit cover the left arm and chest, important location to control blood pressure.
The concept of visually synchronizing the human blood vessel and heart rate has been generated by me to combine with a rhythm study about body vein and artery.
This project has reinforced my capability of applying Arduino coding to pneumatic fabrications under the wearable category.
