The Vein: Pneumatic Wearables
Keywords: Pneuduino, Blood circulation, Wearable device
The project explored how the material acts as an interface between the human body and the surrounding environment by combining the garment's design with the pneumatic system to make the bionic functions be augmented, enhanced, and expanded.
The concept behind this pneumatic wearable is space flight and how our bodies would have to change to adapt to this new environment. A person in space will feel less gravity attraction, which will promote muscular atrophy. Following a heart rate sensor reading, pressure will be applied in critical regions of arteries and veins using this pressurized pneumatic wearable. This will promote the essential blood pressure to withstand the harsh atmosphere of space. The wearable is designed as a slim body suit that covers the left arm and chest, a crucial site for blood pressure regulation.

Hemodynamics Study & Patterning
Mapping and analyzing the morphology and distribution of the body's arterial and venous systems to optimize fabric draping and air channel layout.
Swatch Example
The concept of visually synchronizing the human blood vessel and heart rate has been generated to combine with a rhythm study about the vein and the artery.
